Junior Finance Controller

Why this role matters


As a Junior Finance Controller, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely financial management of the organization. The successful applicant will be responsible for accounting operations, production of periodic financial reports and maintenance of accounting records.

You will report to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organization.

What your days could look like


Your Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and manage the internal process for collecting supplier invoices.
  • Overseeing semi-automated invoice entry and ensuring analytical allocation of costs.
  • Monitor incoming payments.
  • Establishing and maintaining financial controls with our accountant.
  • Managing grants, including support of requests, generate financial reporting, and compliance follow-up.
  • Creating budgets and forecasts.
  • Providing support to management, particularly in commercial and financial matters.
  • Create reports that help senior leadership understand company financials.
  • Being responsible for the company general ledger.
  • Developing internal control guidelines, policies and procedures for budget accounting, cash and credit management, administration and other activities.
  • Coordinating and directing budgeting, procurement, investment activities and financial planning.
  • Depending on the candidate’s profile and the evolution of company priorities, the scope of the role may progressively evolve.

What you bring to the table

  • You hold a Bachelor’s degree in business, accounting, finance or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 Years experience controlling, consulting or audit.
  • You have a good understanding of financial data analysis and reporting.
  • Knowledge of accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
  • Knowledge of federal regulation on taxes and reporting.
  • You possess a deep understanding of finance.
  • You can deliver quality work to tight deadlines, with strong organization and priority setting skills.
  • You demonstrate advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel and Odoo.
  • You must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language so people of all levels can understand.
  • You have excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a multidisciplinary, fast-paced environment.
  • You are fluent in English; fluency in French and/or Dutch is a plus.
